Today I am joining in on the Lil Luxe Collection Dressathon Blog Tour, celebrating the release of three great dress patterns – the Modern Belle Dress, the Starlight City Dress and the Socialite Peplum Bubble Dress.
I go to test my favourite, the Starlight City Dress. This dress is stunning, with two sleeve lengths, a sweet collar and an amazing open back feature.
I made the dress using a plain lilac fabric and omitted the collar, but even in its simplest form the dress is just beautiful, I am in love! It is a quick straightforward sew, that comes together beautifully. Yet it looks intricate and complicated, making you look cleverer than you really are (bonus).
Unfortunately little miss was a reluctant to model this time, so I haven’t got many of the front of the dress. But the back is my favourite bit anyway. It gives it the wow factor, seriously check out those sweet curls 😉
I’ll definitely be making many more, and will be sharing more pics.
Jess has designed this and three other dresses as part of her fall range, but they are perfect for all seasons. The different sleeve lengths make it ideal for the Spring weather here in Australia. She also has some other lovely patterns, I previously tested the Summer Soiree Dress which is divine.
I can’t wait to sew up her other patterns, and you can too as right now she is offering a 25% off discount, but today’s the last day so hurry over to Lil Luxe Collection and use the code word “dressathon”.

I love this simple version, it is so stunning 🙂
