Lil Luxe Collection Dressathon

Dress, Pattern Testing

Today I am joining in on the Lil Luxe Collection Dressathon Blog Tour, celebrating the release of three great dress patterns – the Modern Belle Dress, the Starlight City Dress and the Socialite Peplum Bubble Dress.

I go to test my favourite, the Starlight City Dress. This dress is stunning, with two sleeve lengths, a sweet collar and an amazing open back feature.

Starlight City Dress

I made the dress using a plain lilac fabric and omitted the collar, but even in its simplest form the dress is just beautiful, I am in love! It is a quick straightforward sew, that comes together beautifully. Yet it looks intricate and complicated, making you look cleverer than you really are (bonus).

My Sunshine

Unfortunately little miss was a reluctant to model this time, so I haven’t got many of the front of the dress. But the back is my favourite bit anyway. It gives it the wow factor, seriously check out those sweet curls 😉

Sweet Curls

I’ll definitely be making many more, and will be sharing more pics.

Jess has designed this and three other dresses as part of her fall range, but they are perfect for all seasons. The different sleeve lengths make it ideal for the Spring weather here in Australia. She also has some other lovely patterns, I previously tested the Summer Soiree Dress which is divine.

Spring is here

I can’t wait to sew up her other patterns, and you can too as right now she is offering  a 25% off discount, but today’s the last day so hurry over to Lil Luxe Collection and use the code word “dressathon”.

Eleventh Hour Sewing

Kids Clothes, Shorts

Ok, so I’ve got one more entry into the Willow & Co sewing contest. So many great prizes, I just had to try and get this one finished. I’ve been sewing into the wee hours to get it finished, my first Fawn Lily and some sweet Clovers to match.

I added a layer of lace, which made the construction of the fawn lily a little more difficult, but got there in the end 🙂 The shorts are made from cotton sateen, which was lovely to work with.

I was hoping to photograph the girls together in their outfits, but ran out of time. So I will try get them together another day.

Those eyes melt meI have been busting to make the persimmon dress, but the weather hasn’t been warm enough. But we are now heading into spring, so could finally make one, and I’ll be making many more. I absolutely love how this dress turned out. I love all the details in the pattern, the panels, the pleats and the ruffles.

This gorgeous fabric was found at an op shop, and I love it. Thankfully I got loads of it, so have made myself something too and still have a little left 🙂
